Matthew Stafford

John Matthew Stafford was  born February 7, 1988 is an American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL)

He played college football at Georgia

He was selected first overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2009 NFL Draft.

Stafford is fourth in all-time passing yards per game and the fastest NFL player to reach 40,000 passing yards

As the Lions' primary starter from 2009 to 2020, Stafford had a breakout  season in 2011 when he became the fourth NFL quarterback to throw for over 5,000 yards in a single season

After mutually agreeing to part ways with the Lions, Stafford was traded to the Rams in 2021 and led them to victory in Super Bowl LVI

In April 2008, several NFL analysts predicted Stafford would be the #1 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft if he chose to leave school early.
